With no momentum in the painting department at the moment, I did at least paint a Napoleonic gun emplacement recently. It is a very well detailed resin model, which I bought when Grand Manner cleared out before closing. I think it has been designed with the defensive works as Borodino in mind, but taken apart a barn and improvising defensive positions from that was common. It was done in Finland too, such as at the battle of Oravais. In the latter battle I believe several barns were used like this, but only to house infantry, not artillery, if I remember correctly.

To go with this piece, I will also paint a few Finnish artillerymen on small round bases, as a full artillery base does not fit inside the model, unfortunately.
Very nice!
