Over the summer, I have prepared and now finally painted some more terrain pieces. I have added more Scandinavian style fences to my collection. They are 20 cms long and I did seven in one batch, i e 140 cms. I now have something like 3-4 meters worth of these with the ones I have built and painted previously. They were scratch built from plant sticks, which I split down the middle and glued together. They are a bit tedious to build, but quick to paint up. For a pre-modern Scandinavian farm landscape, you really cant have enough of them, as even the smallest patch of land was enclosed by such gärdesgårdar.
I also painted a dung heap – essential for any rural landscape 🙂 – and a couple of haystacks. The latter look like they could perhaps more accurately be described as very large bundles of grain sheaves, I am not too sure. Both haystacks and dungheap are resin pieces made by 1st Corps miniatures, if I remember correctly.
Below these pieces are a couple of plowed fields (made out of flexible rubber) which I bought somewhere online a few years ago. I havent really used them and feel like I ought to paint them in a more suitable color, especially the lighter, reddish-organge ones (I have 5 or 6 of these in total). Ill try and experiment with different color combinations, washes and drybrushing. But I suspect they will require a fair amount of paint.
