For the first time in a long while Ive come back to the WW2 stuff. This time some Panzerfaust-armed Germans. Until now I have only had two such figures, and my focus was on the earlier stages of the war, before the PF was introduced. However, in order to be able to play the laterContinue reading “Germans with Panzerfausts”

Finnish terrain
As I am painting a lot of figures for the Finnish war, with the aim of recreating some of the battles of the summer of 1808, there are a few specific terrain items that I need. Recently, I did some typically Scandinavian fences (gärdesgårdar). I will need even more, as such fences were built aroundContinue reading “Finnish terrain”
Another Grand Manner building…
I have been busy continuing with my work on the resin buildings I acquired from Grand Manner shortly before they closed down. This time it is some kind of cottage. A beautiful model, but I do wonder if the designer hasnt forgotten a chimney? Even so, the model was a pleasure to paint, with noContinue reading “Another Grand Manner building…”
Prussian barn
The first of the Grand Manner buildings Ive managed to finish is the humble (although quite large) Prussian barn. As I think you can see from the images above, the model is perfectly detailed, with excellent looking wooded frame and straw roof. I should also say that this model required next to no preparation atContinue reading “Prussian barn”
A small re-start
As I wrote in my last post, I havent been doing much painting lately for various reasons. In the last week though, I have been able to get back into it to some extent. I base-coated around 70 figures, all of them Prussians: a third musketeer battalion and a fusilier battalion, plus some skirmishers andContinue reading “A small re-start”
Buildings
Some recent paint work, a few Belgian farm houses by Hovels model buildings. Excellent detail on these resin models, and a somewhat underappreciated maker. Prices are as low as mdf, which in itself is remarkable.
Three more…
Some more Germans, this time they are the last ones remaining on my desk, so hopefully I will be doing other stuff for a while. These three figures were made from one Foundry figure with a Warlord head, one Perry figure with Warlord head and one Perry figure with its original head still intact. IContinue reading “Three more…”
Yet another German…
This one is a Perry DAK figure with no modifications, just painted in regular German colors, the tunic as an early war model. Rivet counters will probably find fault with some of the kit, but it looks convincing enough to me.
And one more…
At the moment one figure at a time is about what I can manage. This one is a Perry miniatures Afrika Korps NCO with a Warlord head, and painted as GD at Kursk. Unfortunately the magazine of the SMG wasnt perfectly cast, and that shows now that the figure is painted. I really should andContinue reading “And one more…”
Another German…
Just one more Foundry German, again this one has a Warlord Games head. These figures are exactly what you want in ww2 Germans for games like CoC or BA; they wear the high boots, but not the gas mask bag on the chest as some other makers versions. This means that they have the lookContinue reading “Another German…”
